LUYSA Grassroots Soccer FAQ (updated August 2010)

When does the season start & end?

Parents will receive the initial training schedule in Late August. Group training begins the first week of September. Teams will be formed through the group training process as outlined in the new LUYSA Player Development Program, and teams/coaches will be completed by the last week in September. The program involves one weeknight training session and one weekend game day per week. Initial 2-3 week training period will be run and staffed by the LUYSA Technical Department, Grassroots Director, and select experienced Club coaches. The club and teams take a winter break around the first week of December, resuming in early January. The season continues until the end of March/Early April, including a year-end windup Mini-World Cup Tournament Event.

Important Updated Information (as of August 31, 2010)

To better accommodate your busy family schedules, and to assist in the logistics of the Mini Team Creation Evaluations, LUYSA has decided to revamp the schedule for each respective Age group. We hope that this will aid most families to better attend the sessions and still accomplish our goal of evaluating and placing each child in the appropriate “stream”.

PLEASE NOTE! We will be running 2 sessions of the same age group per day (see table below).  Your respective age group coordinator will inform you as to which time slot your son should attend. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early for check-in and field assignment.
