Volunteers at any level; whether lending a helping hand to a committee or deciding to become more active at the Board level,are welcome to get involved with Langley United Youth Soccer Association and help soccer make a difference in children’s lives.

Langley United Youth Soccer Association is currently seeking candidates to fill the following roles:

Occasional volunteers — For those who wish to help out with Board activities and tasks for the various committees but do not wish to be on the Board of Directors at this time. We have many activities and smaller tasks that can be acted upon by volunteers, and “many hands make light the work.” If you would like to contribute to a committee with whatever amount of time you can spare, please contact someone on the Board and we’ll offer you some choices for how you can best help LUYSA serve the children of Langley. Assistance is always needed and welcome. Some areas in desperate need of volunteers are;

Tryout Volunteers~ seasonal position that generally runs for a 2 week period. This position will require volunteers to be involved in field set up, equipment needs, washing of pinnies, player signin and various other duties. Tryouts are in place for U11 - U18 and so there are many hours needed to be filled by volunteers..

Mini Windup Volunteers and Donations~ any donations for the mini wind up packages will qualify for your volunteer refund. The LUYSA membership often has parents that have access to products we like to put into our mini packages, i.e. juice boxes, chips, pre-packaged cookies, coupons etc. Any item that can be donated in a volume of 700 plus (our registration for U6 - U10) would be greatly appreciated. Volunteers are needed for mini package assembly. Usually a group of 8 will be needed from 10am - 2pm to assemble all goodies into team packages.  Also needed are 3 volunteers for package distribution during one evening 5 - 9pm.

Equipment Return ~ Assist our Dir of Equipment on various evenings to collect equipment at Buckley Clubhouse.  Also required are parents to volunteer to return all equipment for the Team Coach.

All directors sit on the club’s Board of Directors and hold voting rights so volunteers on committees could have their concerns heard and voiced by the director at the board meetings. The Board Executive meet once each month or as needed in the evening so as not to interfere with family life too much. Both positions play key roles within the Langley United Club, and require enthusiastic individuals who enjoy making a difference and working in co-operation with the other volunteer Board members.

In terms of the day-to-day operations of Langley United, it would not be possible for the club to operate without the contribution of the hundreds of coaches, parents and dedicated volunteers who invest their time and energy each season into our children’s recreation and competitive programs.
