Refresher ClinicsRefresher clinics will be held either in August or September, subject to availability of instructors. Dates will be posted on the LUYSA web site when they are available. All officials Class 4 and higher must attend a refresher course to be eligible to register for the coming season. Class 5Applicants must be a minimum of 12 years of age to be eligible for this course. Participants will be eligible to referee mini games (LUYSA uses officials in U-9 and U-10 games) and line full-side games. This class is approximately 8 hours long, usually held over 2 sessions. Participants must pass an exam to qualify to be an official. Any underage applicant who successfully completes the course will not be assigned to games until after their 12th birthday. Class 4Applicants must be a minimum of 14 years of age to be eligible for this course. Successful participants will be eligible to referee full-side games and also to line full-side games. This class is approximately 16 hours in length usually held over 2 to 4 sessions. Participants must pass an exam to qualify to be an official. Applicants are not required to complete the Class 5 clinic prior to attending the Class 4 clinic. Successful participants may be assigned to mini games to gain experience prior to being assigned to full-side games. Any underage applicant who successfully completes the course will not be assigned to games until after their 14th birthday.
