The Juniors league is a separate league from our regular Mini League. It is an option to join a specific league for motivated players to further hone their skills. (The regular U9 and U10 divisions will still run as well for players not interested in this option.) With the time commitment involved for players, they would not be involved in both.
The purpose of the Juniors program is to further develop focused players for the future. Juniors will be a heightened intensity with additional training sessions. The group is overseen by a certified Level B Master coach with the help of club coaches. OverviewThe Juniors league is a separate league from our regular Mini League. League StructureThe time commitment is at least 2 practices and 1 game per week plus tournaments and additional traveling times to some games. Player/coach/team-mate requests will not be taken and you may have to travel further (but within Langley) for practices. See the frequently answered questions for more detail. The league will commence in early to late August 2007 (exact data TBD) and will run for about 30 weeks (end of March). We understand that some will be on vacation then and expect that the attendance initially may not be full. NOTE: Juniors players are not sorted into individual season-long teams. Rather than separate LUYSA teams competing against each other, each age group has up to 50 players. Players are monitored, trained and split weekly to play against each other, in local competitive tournaments as well as against other clubs with similar development leagues. PlayersThis league would not be for every player/family. The ideal player for this league needs to have the passion, desire and the ability to commit to soccer. (The focus is skill building in a high energy and fun environment!) If the player enjoys many other interests as well, the regular Mini League may be more suitable for player time management. Other considerations include:Would the player available for 3 (or sometimes 4) weekly soccer sessions per week? Each player is not going to be selected for every tournament. Is the player (and parent) ready to face the possible disappointment of not being selected join every tournament? Click here to view a pdf FAQ on the Junior's League
League FeesThe league fee is $295 for the full season. This is paid in two installments. Online registrationRegistrations will be processed online only. Please go to online reg and following the instructions. |
