Referees and Officials

1. LUYSA will not tolerate any verbal or physical abuse of any game official by coaches, managers, players or spectators.
2. In the event of no referee being available for a game, the game should still be played by each team designating an individual to referee one half of the game or selecting a mutually agreed upon person to fill this position.
3. An appointed referee is obligated to enforce and observe the Rules of the Game as contained in FIFA approved publications or in the event of U9 - U10 club issued rules.
4. The referee has the responsibility for the ultimate decision in regard to field conditions and whether or not games should be played.

Coach Selection

1. Coaches wishing to coach a select team must apply to the Technical Director in writing by January 1 prior to the season in question. Applications must list coaching qualifications, practical experience (teams coached and their record) and any other relevant information that will aid the committee in making their decision.
2. The Technical Director, subject to the approval of the Board, shall appoint a Coaching Committee. This committee will, along with the Director of Coaching, review all applications for Select Team coach. The Director of Coaching shall bring the decision of the Coaching Committee to the Board for review and final approval. Should any member have a conflict of interest they will remove themselves.
3. The Committee will make its decision as soon as possible and will notify all candidates of their decision at that time. If in the opinion of the committee there are no suitable candidates for a particular appointment they may look outside the club for a qualified individual.
4. All select coaches should attempt to obtain a minimum NCCP Community Coach Senior coaching certification.
5. In the event of a select coach becomes unable to fulfill his duties the selection of a successor goes back to the coaching committee.

Select Team

1. Select teams will exist only in U11 - U18and only where numbers and calibre of players will allow.
2. The LUYSA policy is for each player to play at the highest level that they are capable and we encourage coaches, parents and players to consider this. The ultimate decision rests with the player and his parents.
3. All players in a given division wishing to play on a select team must attend try-outs or make suitable arrangements with the divisional coordinator or Technical Director where there is a conflict of interest.
4. Parents and players are to be notified of try-out dates through their coordinators, coaches or through the LUYSA website.
5. The club will not tolerate the raiding of players within the club. Select team coaches will only be allowed to contact a player after notifying the current coach and the appropriate divisional coordinator.
